There are many applications for wireless in the medical area. For example, one can put a wireless sensor with motion and inertia sensors on a person’s extremities to measure range of motion during physical therapy. Likewise, another application is measuring the angle of an x-ray platen as a chest x-ray is taken. Fluids affect the reading of x-rays and knowing the angle of the chest is very important. By embedding an RFID tag with a x-ray sensor and solid state angle sensor, the angle can be captured as the x-ray is taken and later read out as the x-ray platen information is retrieved. Matrix Product Development has the experience in low power wireless controls, angle sensing, x-ray sensors, and other sensors to design medical products.
